From Struggle To Success
I know all too well the negative impressions and stigma that society places on those with ADHD. Having dealt with them all my life, I know it can be a highly stressful and challenging experience for both parents and children.
I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 7. Luckily my parents were psychologists and so I got early care, going through the gauntlet of traditional ADHD treatments. However, I still had numerous academic issues, was labeled as “learning disabled,” and experienced frequent conflict at home and school because of my behavioral issues.
As a teenager, I went from delinquency and risk-taking behaviors to nearly being expelled from school. I’ve gone through many trials and tribulations on my path through life, but I also gradually realized how often I did certain things that got in the way of my success and productivity. Eventually, I hit on a key insight—I did have what it took to succeed, and with the right kind of dedication, support, structures, and training I could learn to harness those capacities and maximize my potential.
With persistence and diligence (not to mention numerous failed attempts along the way), I cracked the code for ADHD-based achievement. Eventually, I went on to complete two bachelor degrees and graduated from Columbia University with a Masters in Social Work. I believe that the skills I’ve learned along the way can help others have an easier time coping with the social stigma and life barriers that accompany an ADHD diagnosis.
I would like to inspire those with ADHD to dream bigger, see themselves as the gifted and creative people they are, and instill a sense of optimism for the future that sets them up for success in their lives.
I’ve achieved success and happiness, and I know you can, too. Your potential is within reach!

ABOUT ADHD COACH NORA
Nora has a depth and breadth of life experience. As a woman in her mid-fifties with a late-in-life diagnosis of ADHD, she is passionate about helping others grow through their own ADHD journey. Her three wonderful children, ages 15, 18, and 20, continue to teach her patience, compassion, and gratitude, reminding her of what matters most in life. Nora can relate to the challenges of ADHD within relationships. When she divorced, Nora transitioned out of a 25+ year marriage. This experience has galvanized her spirit to support other women with ADHD who receive a diagnosis later in life. Part of that journey for her has been learning more about ADHD and my own unique presentation. Another aspect is self-acceptance. Nora believes self-awareness is key to ensuring individuals with ADHD thrive in their own lives. Having navigated more than a few unexpected traumatic events throughout her life, she understands the complexity of having ADHD and how adversity adds dimensions to the path of healing and recovery work.
Nora has a Bachelors of Science from Nebraska Wesleyan University with a Major in Psychology. She obtained certification as an ADHD Life Coach through the International ADHD Coach Training (iACT) program, credentialed by the International Coaching Federation.

ABOUT ADHD COACH REBECCA
Rebecca ‘Rebel’ McMahon is an ADHD & Mental Clarity Coach with Clarity Connection, LLC based in Denver, Colorado. After being diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder at the age of 13, Rebel’s journey of finding balance between medication, skill-building, and tapping into available resources began. In school, she used weekly check-in sessions with the school-provided aid and resource room to help manage her course load and find success in school. She has consistently thought back to how helpful this format was in helping her in organizing her ADHD mind and has always dreamt of providing similar resources to others. Prior to Clarity Connection, Rebel worked in the property management and restoration industry for over 13 years from Connecticut to San Francisco to Colorado. One of her other favorite jobs to date was spent as a member of the cliff diving team at Casa Bonita, though the physical demands of performing approximately 50 dives in every five hour shift lead to her retirement in 2017. After seeking more soul-centered work that aligned with her desire to help others with their ADHD obstacles, Rebel enrolled in the ADD Coach Academy, a leader in the industry of an international program out of New York, and became a certified ADHD Coach.
Rebel currently lives in historic Five Points Denver with her cat Ginger, and spends her free time enjoying live music, dancing, crafting, swimming, getting into nature, celebrating life milestones with friends, and rooting for New England sports.
